I’ve always believed there’s something unique about the Florida housing market—especially when it comes to vacation homes. In fact, 7.8% of Florida’s housing is made up of vacation properties, the sixth highest share in the country. Across the U.S., we’re facing a housing shortage of 4.03 million units, and vacation homes have dipped to 4.74 million in 2024, now accounting for just 3.3% of all housing. Interestingly, timeshares are seeing higher occupancy rates than hotels these days. Florida sits at the top in sheer number of vacation homes, while northern New England boasts the highest concentration. Here on Marco Island, every property—whether year-round or a getaway—has its own story, and I love helping folks discover just the right fit for their dream lifestyle.
