Exciting news for those keeping an eye on Florida’s housing market: August brought a notable 28% increase in new-home permits, with 7,842 issued statewide and nearly $2.9 billion in construction value. What stands out to me is that Tampa and Southwest Florida—our own backyard—accounted for more than half of that activity. Meanwhile, Southeast Florida led in average permit value. As someone who’s spent years guiding buyers and investors through the ins and outs of Marco Island real estate, I can say these numbers reflect the continued appeal of our region. Every new permit is the start of another story, and it’s always rewarding to see confidence returning to the market.
