Marco Island Holds 2027 Tax Rate Steady

Marco Island approved a Fiscal 2027 budget of $34.3M and held its property tax rate near ~1.3 mills, unchanged after last year's increase.
The Fiscal 2027 plan included a ~6% pay raise for police and fire rescue, plus a 3% raise for general city employees.
Marco Island said its current municipal rate remained among Florida's lowest, with only 16 of 393 municipalities reporting lower millage levels statewide.
Officials said the city received ~14% of residents' total property tax bills, and the Fiscal 2027 budget landed $1.64M below charter limits.
Voters approved a $23M bond on August 18, 2026, supporting 10-yr bridge work and paving 36 lane miles over time for Marco Island.
